Alun’s strengths lie in communication, facilitation and creativity. He works with individuals and groups to help them stay on track and achieve their objectives and desired outcomes. He also works with businesses to help them make communication clear, concise and unambiguous. Alun’s forte is creating learning and development opportunities for individuals and groups of people through activities and business simulations. Whether he is working with a team tackling real business issues or a group of individuals developing their own leadership skills, Alun’s focus is always on the objectives and outcomes.
Alun started his career coaching outdoor pursuits before moving into wholesale and retail management. He had a short spell working freelance as a management trainer before setting up his own company in the UK which specialised in the delivery of training and communication events for industry. After 20 years working with major blue chip companies he sold his interest in the business in 2009 to pursue his own goals. Now Alun spends the winters in Chamonix Mont Blanc and the summers in the French Pyrenees while maintaining a base in the UK.
Alun has a metaphorical “toolkit”, built up from his experience and vocational training, which he carries with him everywhere and invariably has something in his repertoire for every occasion. Most often, Alun is called when someone in his network is “stuck” and can find no way forward. Through his creativity he can make the impossible, possible and the complex, simple. His working language is English.
Philosophy: I believe in the potential of people. How we use, and what we do with our time is a choice. The words we use and the impact we have on others is a choice. Increasing self-awareness, learning and gathering feedback can make a huge difference to the world we live in and the world of those around us.
